Teacher Appreciation Door Decorations

Every year our Elementary School decorates the doors of Teachers to show our appreciation.  I got roped into helping at the last minute and I had a hard time finding ideas of some cute door decoration ideas.  So I went around and took pictures of some of the cuter doors so that next year I’d have some fresh new ideas.]

Here’s the door I ended up decorating for one of my daughters teachers.  It involved ripping up lots of paper, and making a mess of sand in my front room.  But I think it turned out cute.  My girls and friend helped me put it up over the weekend.

Here are some more ideas from around the school.  Some of the doors are simple but could really be improved upon with a little more work.  Others are perfect.  Loved all the ideas.

Loved this idea.

Especially the tissue paper leaves in the tree.

I’m guessing this teacher loves Swedish Fish.

More simple ideas.

Spring 1138

This door incorporated a rewrite of the song ‘You are My Sunshine.’

And a play on the teachers name is always fun.

Loved how some of the parent decorators took the time to take pictures of the kids and include it in the design.

Here’s the best School Counselor’s door I’ve ever seen.

More and more ideas.

Adding personalized messages from the kids.

Although simple the message on this door was one of my favorites.

Flower Crown in Five Minutes

Not kidding here.  This sweet crown took around 5 minutes to make.  Want to know the secret?

Dollar Store Lei’s and Ribbon. Spring 1103

Not only is this a quickie craft but it’s also light on the wallet.  I ended up getting sheer ribbon because it more closely matched the flower leis.

Spring 1107

First give your Lei a little snip and adjust it to the size that will fit the recipients head.

Spring 1104

Tie a good old square knot.  Go ahead and save the petals for making even more crowns.

Spring 1105

Loop on 4-6 strands of your ribbon.

Spring 1106

And Presto… You’ve created a very lovely flower crown for your little spring maiden to wear.

Spring 1114

Perfect for dancing round the May Pole.

Spring 1108

So simple in fact that my extremely craft challenged husband whipped these together for the girls with minimal instruction from me.
